Whatcom’s most popular program is the university transfer program. The Associate in Arts and Sciences degree is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year university to complete their bachelor’s degree. Whatcom’s International Programs staff are experts in advising students on transfer to top universities throughout the U.S.
Students 17 years and older can live in on-campus housing in a state-of-the art residential facility. Students under 17 are required to live with local homestay families.
All Running Start students are responsible for finding their own textbooks for WCC classes. For details, see this document.
Some students may qualify to be loaned textbooks at no cost for the duration of the quarter. Supplies are limited. Awards are based on financial need and academic merit. Apply using this form, or by emailing rstart@whatcom.edu
Priority deadline: Two weeks before the start of the quarter
If you want books in time for the first day of the Quarter, you must apply early, at least 2 weeks before the start of the quarter.
Late applications will be accepted. However, if you apply late, your books might not be ready until after classes have started. Late applications may take up to 10 business days to be processed.
