Engineering at Whatcom

WCC’s project-based learning approach helps students connect theoretical knowledge with engineering applications. Hands-on learning begins immediately with a first-year curriculum that teaches technical skills in robotics programming, computer graphics, and design processes while exploring the roles of math, science and teamwork in engineering. Students refine their skills with design projects integrated into the traditional sophomore-level coursework focused on engineering theory.

Graduates of WCC’s pre-engineering program may transfer with junior-level status to nearly any engineering major at universities in Washington and elsewhere.

WCC’s small class sizes, low tuition, support services, and faculty focus on instruction set the stage for student success in a challenging curriculum.

Active student clubs and research opportunities allow students to apply their learning outside of the classroom and further build qualifications for scholarships, internships and transfer.
