Black Lives Matter

WCC and the Counseling Office stands in solidarity with our communities, with all who grieve over the violence, with all who live in constant fear of the brutality of racial discrimination and oppression. We must continue to combat injustice through education. As an institution of higher education, we have the responsibility to model inclusion and fight racism.

Welcome to Counseling

We are dedicated to making necessary changes, when able, to increase access to our counseling services for students at WCC.  We recognize that this is a challenging time for everyone.  Your overall care and well-being remain our top priorities.

The Whatcom Community College Counseling Center provides short-term personal counseling for currently enrolled students.  Counseling services at WCC are free and confidential.  Our counselors understand the stresses of college life, and the events that can distract from the goals students are trying to achieve. A few of the more common reasons students come to the counseling center include feeling overwhelmed with life stressors, anxiety, depression, academic challenges, etc. Referrals to community agencies are made when needed (i.e. substance abuse, domestic violence, eating disorders, etc).

Scheduling an Appointment

WCC is offering secure telehealth and in-person mental health services. If you would like to make an appointment, please email us at counseling@whatcom.edu or call 360-383-3139.

During the first appointment, the counselor will review the intake form with you and discuss your goals for counseling.  If you have questions about your counselors training and experience, about the counseling process, or about the intake form, please do not hesitate to ask.
