Welcome to the Simpson Intercultural Center homepage! We are so happy to have you here.

The Simpson Intercultural Center (IC) is a curated space on campus for everyone to feel safe and secure within the Whatcom Community College community. We are located in the Syre Student Center, room 217.

We are here to provide resources and support, especially to Students of Color, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and other historically underrepresented identities. We respect and affirm all aspects of people's identity, and everyone is welcome here! Please stop by during our open hours to study, hang out, meet other students, or get connected to support services and resources.

The Simpson Intercultural Center supports our identity and culture-based student clubs and unions. Please click here to see our list of active clubs and unions.

We also host events and provide learning opportunities for the campus community to celebrate diverse cultures, uplift and affirm historically underrepresented identities, and bring attention to issues that impact students and their communities. Please click here to see a list of our upcoming events.

ICPN Peer Mentoring Spring 2024

Are you looking for a mentor? Join the Intercultural Center Peer Navigator Mentoring Program. The Simpson Intercultural Center supports educational equity and academic achievement of a diverse student population and recognizes the important role Peer Navigators play in a student's transition to college and strive to create a successful college experience for WCC students. Peer Navigators are an important part of this initiative. Peer Navigators work closely with WCC faculty and staff to provide positive relationships that assist mentees with successful academic and social integration.

The Intercultural Center Peer Navigators (ICPNs) provide mentoring opportunities to positively impact the academic, cultural, and social success of students from systemically minoritized backgrounds and first years students. Using personal foundation experiences along with skills gained through the ICPN training. ICPNs will help, advise and provide referrals to campus resources, connect through activities and events. ICPNs will also provide guidance and leadership to support confidence building and identity development.

We are here to support you and look forward to meeting you!
