As a result of completing the nursing assistant certificate, you should be able to:

  1. Identify how the individual's culture and spiritual beliefs affect the older adult clients.
  2. Describe the nursing care required by clients with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
  3. Describe the nursing care required by clients with common disorders of the circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, urinary, gastrointestinal, and urological system.
  4. Communicate professionally with clients and healthcare team members.
  5. Adhere to established policies and procedures related to safety and infection prevention in the healthcare setting and in the nursing laboratory.
  6. Explain concepts related to client care.
  7. Identify and describe basic ethical and legal concerns related to patient care.
  8. Use basic nursing skills in the clinical setting.
